ABOUT LE CLEDIER

INSIDE:
Situated on the outskirts of the village, this stone building was originally built as a chestnut drying house (Cledier). Now converted into a picturesque gite it provides accommodation for 2-3 people. It has a salon / kitchen / diner with oak parquet floor and woodburner in addition to central heating. It has a high ceiling and double doors looking out over the garden, raised terrace and distant countryside. The double bedroom is surrounded by a mezzanine with single divan over a tiled wc / shower room. There is a dvd player and screen & WIFI.

OUTSIDE:
The garden is private. The gite has its own parking space. Le Cledier shares a 9m x 4m pool with lovely views in an area away from the other gites . There’s also a childrens’ play area with slide, swing and climbing frame.

ACCESSIBILITY:
Le Cledier is not adapted for wheelchair use, however, it is all ground floor only.

We came in search of a peaceful and relaxing holiday and we found it here.

A peaceful week spent in Le Cledier. Plenty of wildlife to see – birds of prey, bats, glow-worms & hedge-hogs.

Peaceful & relaxing setting ; ideal for tree lovers.

For a quiet place there are plenty of places to see – for example ‘Courvoisier’ – Cognac.

Le Cledier is a lovely little home… I particularly enjoyed the kitchen in the cupboard! You are in for a wonderfully wholesome, cleansing and relaxing time here.

ABOUT L’AGE

L’Age is a hamlet in the area named Le Pays des Feuillardiers (country of the woodcutters). At the turn of the last century there was intensive management of the sweet chestnut copices which are still evident and home to a lot of wildlife. The land is undulating and pretty, dotted with small lakes. There are excellent way-marked paths for walkers. The cities of Limoges, Angoulême and Périgueux are within an hour’s drive.

ACTIVITIES

Rambling, Bird watching, Mountain biking, fishing, golf, go-karting, bowling, swimming, tennis, tree adventure parks, Velo-rail, canoeing, Chateaux (Richard Lion Heart route), Gallo-roman churches, Roman baths.

FURTHER DETAILS

There is a shared swimming pool positioned well away from the gite so there is no disturbance for non-pool users. From the well exposed, redwood cedar deck of the pool there is a long view over a pond, valley and fields where Limousin cattle graze.

All bed linen and towels are provided.

We, the owners are resident on site, separated from the gite by a detached stone barn. Please contact us for information on a winter let.
